What We Do...
University Sports is a high school/university placement service for student-athletes interested in attending a university in the United States while continuing to play sports at the collegiate level. University Sports provides each one of our student-athletes with professional one-on-one dedication to ensure that student-athletes receive the best possible financial package (athletic scholarships, educational scholarships, grants, and financial aid) and just as importantly that student-athletes are placed at right high school/university that will allow for the best possible educational and personal growth and success, both in the classroom and on the field.
UNIVERSITY SPORTS GUIDANCE & SERVICES
Assessment & Evaluation: University Sports will discuss academic and athletic expectations for the student-athlete and his/her parents. Assessment and evaluation will include:
• Sport specific/athletic ability and evaluation
• Academic standards and evaluation
• Goals and expectations academically and athletically
The assessment and evaluation process will also review and discuss what type college or university will be best suited for the student-athlete based on location/region in the United States, size of the college/university, academic desires, and athletic goals.
Testing: University Sports will coordinate for each student-athlete the necessary testing needed to attend college/university in the United States. Both the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) will be required for student-athletes.
Eligibility: University Sports will coordinate and oversee the necessary requirements for academic and athletic eligibility, including:
• National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Intercollegiate Athletic Association
(NAIA) Eligibility Center
• Review of Core academic courses needed for eligibility
• Amateurism eligibility
• NCAA/NAIA Compliance
Recruitment Process: University Sports will customize a strategy and plan in the recruiting process of the student-athlete to include:
• List of colleges/universities that fit the student-athlete criteria
• Recruiting profile (curriculum vitae)
• Advice on communication with coaches
• Playing video/tape (if necessary), at an additional cost
Academic Acceptance: University Sports will provide step-by-step guidance and coordination of college/university acceptance, including:
• Application process
• Submitting of academic documents and grades
• Coordination of National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
• Financial documentation (financial aid, if necessary)
• Room and board coordination (housing/accommodation and meal plans)
• Medical forms, health insurance coordination
Student Visa/Immigration: University Sports will provide guidance in the student visa and immigration process, including:
• Student visa application (F-1)
• Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), 1-2 or DS-2019 forms issued by college/university
General Guidance: University Sports will also provide general guidance to ensure that student-athletes have a smooth transition to high school/university, including:
• Student orientation/registration
• Flights, transportation, travel logistics
• Health insurance
• Packing
